Exmouth Town look to build upon their superb start as they welcome Westbury United to the Circle of Care Community Stadium on Saturday.

Town currently sit in second place of the Pitching In Southern League Division One South, following last weekend’s 4-1 win against Evesham United, and could potentially go top with a win against a Westbury side looking to kickstart their season.

Westbury United achieved their first promotion to the Southern League after finishing 2nd in the Hellenic League last season, under the guidance of Lewis Porter and Ricky Hulbert, only losing four games throughout the league season.

It has not been an easy start to life in the Southern League for the White Horse Men, with one win, two draw and two defeats, but strong results against Wimborne Town and Tavistock United show that they are more than capable of competing at this level.

A win for the visitors could see them rise all the way up to as high as sixth.

Speaking shortly after the Evesham game, Town manager Kevin Hill said: “A tough game, we haven’t played Westbury for years.

They were in our league a couple of years ago but we never got to play them, I don’t know how they did against Tavistock but it will be the same as we treat everyone else that comes here, as long as we are on our game, we are a hard team to beat at home.

I fancy our chances at home against anybody, but at the end of the day they are a new team to us so I’m going to do a bit of digging to find out what they are like.”
