Last season’s Western League title rivals reacquaint themselves with each other, as Exmouth Town make the short trip to Tavistock on Wednesday night in the Southern League Division One South.

Town tasted defeat last time out, with a 2-1 defeat against Bishops Cleeve, but will be looking to put things right at Langsford Park and come home with all three points.

Exmouth will be familiar with their opponents, having battled them for the Western League title last year.

While the games ended in a draw and an Exmouth win, Tavistock were able to clinch the title on a dramatic final day.

They currently find themselves in a bit of a false position, sitting in 11th, as they hold 3 games in hand over most of the sides above them due to their exploits in the FA Trophy, as well as an unfortunate postponement against Bashley.

The Lambs bounced back from a disappointing result against Hamworthy United with a superb 4-2 win against Slimbridge, meaning they will be full of confidence as they welcome Town to Langsford Park.

Speaking shortly after the Bishops Cleeve game, Exmouth Town manager Kevin Hill said: “When you lose, you want to get a game as soon as possible and try to win that.

We haven’t won at Tavistock for a while, they struggle here, and we struggle there but we drew there last year, so it’s only a matter of time before we win there!”

The address for Tavistock’s ground is:

Langsford Park, Crowndale Road, Tavistock, Devon, PL19 8JR

Ticket prices are as follows:

£10 Adults

£6 Concessions

Under 12 with paying adult are admitted for free

Kick off for the game is 7:45.
