MATCH PREVIEW: EXMOUTH TOWN VS WILLAND ROVERS
Exmouth Town will look to kick off the new year with three points, as they welcome Willand Rovers to the Circle of Care Community Stadium on the 2nd of January (kick-off 2pm), in the Southern League Division One South.
Town arrive into 2023 in mixed form, but a strong second half performance against Bideford on Boxing Day will give confidence to Exmouth ahead of Monday’s game.
Willand Rovers have exactly six wins, six draws and six losses so far this season, and sit in 12th place, and have recently ended a three game losing streak with an impressive 3-1 win against Tavistock.
Rovers met Town early on in the season, where they handed Exmouth their first league defeat as a Douglas Camilo goal separated the two sides.
Speaking shortly after the Bideford game, Exmouth Town manager Kevin Hill said: “Tough game, they beat us up there.
They are going to come back with the same tactics and the same formation, I expect, but we have to be up for it.
It is the derbies where I want us to be a bit more ruthless, a bit more physical, a bit more demanding in the tackle.
We are at home, the onus is on us, let’s see if we can take it to them.”
