Exmouth Town are delighted to announce the signing of former Exeter City and Bideford player Sam Haynes, who made his full debut this past Monday against Willand Rovers.

Having trained with the club for a number of weeks as he returned to full fitness, the full-back was signed before the Bristol Manor Farm game, and has been named in the past three Exmouth matchday squads, making his debut against his former club Bideford.

Speaking after the Bideford game, Exmouth Town manager Kevin Hill said: “I thought he was class, he was on for 15/20 minutes, you could see by his touches, he didn’t give it away, comfortable on the ball.

He hasn’t played for two and a half years, he’s been training with us for the last month, and he wants to be involved and that’s what I like.

I wasn’t going to chuck him on at Bristol Manor Farm, because it was frosty and if anything had happened to him I would have been gutted.

He’s had some minutes, he might start the next game, we will have to see how it goes and how he is but I thought he was excellent for the 20 minutes he played.”

The next opportunity to see Town’s new signing will be next Saturday, as Exmouth travel to First 4 Pools Stadium to take on Paulton Rovers.
