MATCH PREVIEW: EXMOUTH TOWN VS SLIMBRIDGE AFC

Exmouth Town will look to earn back-to-back home wins for the first time in 2023 this Saturday, as they welcome Slimbridge to the Circle of Care Community Stadium, in the Southern League Division One South.

Town romped to their first home win of the new year as they beat Frome Town 5-0, and earned a tough away point at Cinderford, and they will be looking to stretch that unbeaten run to three games.

THE OPPOSITION

Slimbridge currently sit bottom of the league, but they have actually had a strong start to the new year, despite a spell of postponements meaning they have only played four games.

The Swans have only lost once in 2023, against Melksham Town, but have earned draws against both Bideford and Paulton, as well as scoring a fantastic 3-0 win away at Bristol Manor Farm.

In the reverse fixture, it was Exmouth who came out on top as they beat Slimbridge 4-0 at Thornhill Park, with goals from Levi Landricombe, Jordan Harris and two from Josh Bissett.

PRE-MATCH CHAT

Speaking shortly after the Cinderford draw, Assistant Manager Andy Rawlings said: “There’s not an easy game at this level, Slimbridge are a very good footballing side, but as long as we carry that energy into this game, we can go and get the right result next week.”
