MATCH PREVIEW: EXMOUTH TOWN VS LYMINGTON TOWN

Exmouth Town will be looking to get back to winning ways at the Circle of Care Community Stadium this Saturday, as they take on an in-form Lymington Town in the Southern League Division One South.

Town are currently on a run of seven games without a win, and will want to put that right as they head into to the final stretch of the season.

THE OPPOSITION

Going into 2023, Lymington were comfortably in the relegation zone, but with only one defeat in their last ten games, they now find themselves in 16th, and despite not being out of the battle, they are certainly in a much stronger position then they were three months ago.

Dave Lewis’ side have enjoyed some superb results as of late, with wins against the likes of Westbury, Evesham and Cinderford, but they are coming off the back of a heart-breaking 2-2 draw against Bishop’s Cleeve, where they conceded twice in stoppage time to only take a point.

The two sides met earlier at The Sports Ground, where despite an early red card, it was an even game until the last 15 minutes, with goals from Levi Landricombe and Mark Lever earning Town a 2-0 win.

PRE-MATCH CHAT

Speaking shortly after the Hamworthy game, manager Kevin Hill stated: “Very tough, they are scrapping down the bottom, and there’s no worse team to play than a team that’s scrapping because they are fighting for their lives.

We aren’t safe yet, I’d still like another three points, and everyone seems to be beating everyone, and there’s still a lot for teams to play for and we don’t want to get into a lull.”
