Exmouth Town manager Kevin Hill was pleased with his side’s effort and desire as they drew 1-1 with Bashley at the GlenMex Stadium in a competitive Southern League Division One South clash.

Aarron Denny opened the scoring for Town, but a Frankie Monk strike ensured that the game remained level, despite Town creating plenty of chances to take all three points.

“To come to a place like this, they are looking for the play-offs and we haven’t been overly great on the road for months, so to come here, I thought we deserved to go on and win that game with the chances we had,” Kevin said.

“The lads worked their socks off, and at the end there we could have got a winner, Jordan’s (Harris) hit the post, the ‘keeper has pulled off two great saves, everyone can feel like they put a shift in today.

“It’s a great finish, and Denny is a nuisance all day long, saying that, they all were, but it was a great finish and we take that point.

“You can see the effort, the work rate and that wasn’t there, and that happens when you are struggling, the lads look like they’ve got that life back in them, they look like they’ve got smiles on their faces again, and that’s what it’s about.”
