MATCH PREVIEW: EXMOUTH TOWN VS BIDEFORD

Exmouth Town are searching for a second consecutive home win as they welcome Bideford A.F.C to the Circle of Care Community Stadium in the Southern League Division One South.

This game comes just two days after Town’s 1-1 draw away at Bashley, and they will be looking to carry their momentum into this upcoming Devon Derby.

THE OPPOSITION

Bideford are currently battling for safety, sitting above the relegation play-off spots in 16th, five points above 17th Willand Rovers.

The Robins have had a mixed run of form, having spent February keeping five clean sheets in six games, but recently they have had an inconsistent run of form, losing to AFC Totton, Paulton Rovers and Westbury United, but picking up a big win against Lymington Town, with draws against Sholing and Frome.

The two sides met on Boxing Day earlier in the season, with the game finishing all-square, as a Craig Duff penalty was cancelled out by Harry Walford in an even game at the Sports Ground.

PRE-MATCH CHAT

Speaking shortly after the Bashley game, Exmouth Town manager Kevin Hill said: “They are exactly the same as us, they’ve got nothing to lose, and you can see what Bideford do, they kept five clean sheets in a row and won five 1-0s.

They’ve lost a two or three back to back, which does happen, you get that losing feeling.

It’s a derby, and anything comes up in a derby, we’ve just got to treat it as another game, both similar sides but it will be very tough.”
