MATCH PREVIEW: EXMOUTH TOWN VS EVESHAM UNITED

Exmouth Town kick off their 2023/24 Southern League Division One South season this Saturday, as they welcome Evesham United to the Circle of Care Community Stadium.

Town will be hoping to start with a win in front of their home fans, and bounce back from a disappointing defeat against Falmouth in the FA Cup.

THE OPPOSITION

Evesham are familiar opposition to Exmouth, having had a superb season last term, finishing in fourth, being defeated by Hamworthy in the play-off semi finals.

The two teams shared a win and defeat in their previous two encounters, with Evesham winning the away game 2-1, in perhaps the foggiest afternoon of football ever played, and Town beating the Robins 4-1 in their first game.

 PRE-MATCH CHAT

Speaking shortly after the Falmouth defeat, Hill said: “We cannot play like we did today (against Falmouth), if that happens then we will get beat.

If we can get back to what we know we can do, work hard, battle and show a bit of quality, then we can show a lot more than we did out there.”
