A disappointed Andy Rawlings reflected on Exmouth Town’s 5-0 defeat against Larkhall Athletic at Plain Ham.

In what was a miserable afternoon for Town, they were well beaten, with goals from Archie Ferris, David Regula, Alex Lambert and Jake Jackson.

Speaking shortly after the game, the assistant manager said: “It was very tough, no one wants to come off a five nil defeat, not too many positives to take out of today’s game.

Previous games we have lost where we didn’t have the rub of the green, but I think today, we got what we deserved.

We gave them two goals, they got on the wrong side of us and we were two down after five minutes, and then the third one we should have dealt with that too.

We were outplayed in every single department today, and we haven’t said that in many games, but sometimes you’ve just got to hold your hands up.

We all have to stick together, we are a good side and today we were poor, but we can’t change what happened today, but next week, we can go again.”

Town will look to put it right next Saturday, as they welcome Cribbs FC to the Circle of Care Community Stadium.
