Kevin Hill was disappointed with his side’s second half performance as Exmouth were held to a 2-2 draw by Mousehole at the Circle of Care Community Stadium.

Goals from Nelson Iseguan and Aarron Denny had Town two goals up at half time, but a poor second 45 allowed the visitors to level proceedings, with Exmouth hanging on for another point which keeps them pushing towards safety.

“Mixed emotions really, we started off with a gameplan knowing what they are about, we’ll take a point, that’s four points in the last two games, but from being 2-0 up, that’s why we are where we are.

We did exactly what we set up to do in the first half, but we hit a certain point where we went back to the bad habits, it became a half press, we were tired.

They are a younger team so they might have the legs, but I’d just like us not to self-destruct, I think by the end we were blowing so much that they couldn’t speak to each other, and they were just following runners, you could see when we became half-hearted.

Second half is us through and through, I’ll be honest, they were weak there, our mentality for the second half was poor, 2-0 at half time, the most important goal is the next one, and we come out sloppy, and they get what they deserve.

Both goals come from us not attacking the ball, when your struggling you think that someone else is going to do it, but that’s frustrating for us.

To be fair, we would have lost that earlier in the season, second half they destroyed us, but I’ll take the point.”

Town are back in action tomorrow as they take on Bideford at the Sports Ground.
