Exmouth Town have bolstered their squad with the signings of Merson Ham and Jacob Mead from Street and Bradford Town respectively.

Ham is a name you may be familiar with from last Saturday’s game against Tavistock, where he came on for the closing stages, while Mead’s arrival will see him available for Town’s upcoming games.

A relentless midfielder, Ham has built up experience playing for Street and Barnstaple, he brings plenty of work rate to the Town midfield.

Mead is a right back whose performances have seen his stock increase in recent seasons, having had a great season at Wells City before moving to Bradford Town, where he has impressed in the Western League Division One.

We spoke to Kevin Hill after the Tavistock game, who gave his take on what Mead and Ham add to the side.

“He’s a box-to-box midfielder (Ham), he’s pure energy, and because we are bottom of the league, if we pick up an injury I want us to be able to change it.

We know what are strengths are and we need another set of legs there, he’s fit as hell and he’ll win tackles, get the ball and keep it simple, which we need as we are fighting every game.

With Jacob, we haven’t had a natural right back for the whole season, so bringing him in gives us that option, and he’s another one with plenty of energy who will help us fight for survival.”

You can see both new additions on the 20th, as Town host Bishops Cleeve at the Circle of Care Community Stadium.
