Exmouth Town will look to build on their opening day win against Thatcham, as they make the short trip to Bideford on Tuesday evening (7:45pm KO).

This will be Town’s first competitive away game of the season, and it will be against familiar opposition at the Sports Ground.

THE OPPOSITION

Bideford have been a consistent part of Exmouth’s time in the Southern League Division One South, becoming a regular fixture for Town over the past three years.

The Robins finished 12th last season, and got their season off to a great start, as they advanced in the FA Cup against Bridgwater, and beat Bishops Cleeve 1-0.

PRE-MATCH CHAT

Speaking after the Thatcham game, joint manager Kevin Hill said: “I know what they are like, it’ll be a tight game all the way through.

It will be on mistakes, they are made at this level, look at two of our goals today, they are good balls in from Josh (Cann), but nine out of ten times it is mistakes that lead to goals at this level.

If we can get the energy that we had in pre-season on Tuesday, we will make it tough for Bideford.

I can’t remember the last time we got something at Bideford, we’ve got a draw there but it’s always been tough.

It’s their first game at home, they’ll be buzzing, they’ll have the fans behind them, but we will go up there with a bit of confidence behind us.”
