Exmouth will aim to continue their perfect September as they host Horndean this Saturday, in the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy.

A win will see Town reach the third qualifying round, which would break the record for the furthest they have been in this competition.

THE OPPOSITION

Hordean have enjoyed an excellent start to the season, currently sitting in fourth place with three wins, two draws and one defeat.

The Deans, who were promoted to Isthmian South Central league in the 22/23 season have recorded wins against Binfield, Hamworth Villa and Badshot Lea, although they have not won in their previous three games.

That winless run does include good draws against Hayes & Yeading as well as Kingstonian, so there is no doubt that Saturday will be a tough test for Town.

PRE-MATCH CHAT

Speaking after the Yate game, joint manager Dave Pearse said: “It’ll be a bit like Kidlington last week, we didn’t know a whole lot about them.

We are at home, and we will play our game, try to get another win in the cup and get through to the next round.

We won’t worry about doing too much homework on them, that might sound a bit arrogant, it’s not, we just want to be ourselves, be on the front foot and try to get a result.”
