MATCH PREVIEW: EXMOUTH TOWN VS SHAFTESBURY

Exmouth Town will look to continue their fantastic run of form, when they welcome Shaftesbury to the Complete Infrastructure Stadium this Saturday, in the Southern League Division One South.

Having collected ten points from a possible 12 in the past four games, including three tough away trips, Town must not get ahead of themselves as they face a tough test at home.

THE OPPOSITION

Following promotion to the Southern League last season, it has taken the Rockies a bit of time to adjust to the level, but they have started to rise up the table, currently sat in 18th.

Much like Town, Pat McManus’ side has won two games in a row, thrashing Cinderford 4-1 and earning a late win against Willand through Brett Pittman.

PRE-MATCH CHAT

Speaking after the Bashley game, joint-manager Dave Pearse said: “We said to the boys a few weeks ago, forget the league table, this will be a tough game.

They won tonight (Tuesday), they seem to be picking up results and I think them winning tonight will change the mindset of our players.

If we turn up like we did tonight, if we work and run the way we have, we will be favourites on paper, because of the league table, but we won’t take it like that.

We know it will be a tough game and we will have to give everything to get the points.”
