Callum Shipton was the man of the moment at the Complete Infrastructure Stadium, as his last-minute winner saw Exmouth Town beat Bristol Manor Farm 3-2.

Having gone 2-0 down in the first half, a Ben Griffith goal, followed by a brace from the midfielder gave Town a crucial three points.

The hosts started off strong, with a blocked Luke Steer effort going out for a corner, and Louis Morison almost opened the scoring with a header from that following set-piece.

Manor Farm were also up for the game, and Frankie Phillips would have to get out quickly to deny Daniel Dodimead.

The Town defence fell asleep at the back moments later, and Louis Britton was allowed through on goal, and the prolific frontman made no mistake, slotting past the goalkeeper.

Seth Locke would make two important saves to keep it level, the first one stopping Steer, and the second one preventing Morison’s headed effort finding the back of the net.

Exmouth were pushing for a leveller, but were struggling to put the final ball in the right place, seeing multiple promising attacks fizzle out.

Tor Swann and Tom Bath would have shots go wide, but it was not to be for Town.

In fact, it would get worse for the hosts, and in a moment to forget for Phillips, a corner was fumbled into the path of Jacob Spence, and he made it 2-0.

Exmouth would start the second half in a three-at-the-back shape, and would have the first few chances.

Ollie Knowles had a go on goal which went wide, and Mike Landricombe’s tame header was hooked off the line by Britton.

Town were pushing, and Swann got down the right-hand side to put a cross into Bath, but the striker’s header was easy for Locke to deal with.

Manor Farm would have another goal-line clearance, with Steer doing a good job to keep it in play, and get it over to Jack Thorne, but Arron Robbins was present to keep it out.

A minute later, Town would get the goal they were looking for, as the ball came out to Ben Griffith on the edge of the box, and he blasted it past the goalkeeper.

The visitors almost put themselves in the clear, as Britton skipped past two defenders but put the ball wide.

That would prove costly for the Portwaymen, as Swann chased down a ball on the right hand side, with his cross falling to Thorne, who could not quite get it out of his feet, before it rolled to Shipton, and he fired in from the edge of the box.

There would be more drama heading into stoppage time, as a Bubacarr Sama received a second yellow card and therefore a red, which saw Manor Farm down to ten.

Moments later, Exmouth played an awful free-kick which saw them intercepted just ahead of the halfway line, and Britton laid it off to Dodimead, but with just Phillips to beat, he got his shot all wrong.

Manor Farm would hook an effort off the line again, as a free-kick was scrambled past Locke, but Town would find the winner with just seconds to go.

A corner was cleared out, with the ball ending up at the feet of Shipton, and he once again put a low effort past Locke and into the bottom corner.

It was an incredible moment for those at the Complete Infrastructure Stadium, and for a Town side who needed to pick up three points to solidify their play-off place.

Exmouth have another tough test next week, as they head to the A-Class Arena to take on Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
