It all comes down to the final day of the Southern League Division One South for Exmouth Town, as they head to Plain Ham to take on Larkhall AFC on Saturday.

A win is paramount for Town, but they will also need other results to go their way if they are to extend their season and reach the play-offs.

THE OPPOSITION

Larkhall have had a tough season, but found themselves safe with two games to go, with their being a fair distance between themselves and Thatcham, who occupy the last relegation spot due to Shaftesbury’s imminent demotion.

Wins have been tough to come by since their 5-0 victory against Cinderford, with the Larks failing to win in any of their next eight games, although they have had no trouble finding the back of the net.

A long trip to Falmouth on Thursday is not an ideal way to close the season, and Town will be hoping to use any potential fatigue to their advantage.

Larkhall’s current position may surprise those who were at the Complete Infrastructure Stadium in October, as Ollie Price’s side scored a deserved 3-1 victory against Town.

PRE-MATCH CHAT

Speaking after the Helston game, joint-manager Dave Pearse said: “They’ve got a tough game away at Falmouth, so we’ll go in there full of confidence to go and win the game.

It is going to be a bit like a cup final, but we’ve got to play the game, not the occasion.”
