Exmouth Town Retained List 2025
The summer window is in full swing, and Exmouth Town have been busy, making five new additions.
Alongside that, Town are delighted to confirm that all but three of last year’s record-breaking squad has signed on for the 25/26 season.
Below is a list of players that have been retained…
RETAINED
Joe Belsten, Louis Morison, Mike Landricombe, Josh Cann, Dave Rowe, Callum Shipton, Ethan Slater, Aarron Denny, Ollie Knowles, Ben Griffith, Isaac McCue, Ace High, Ben Steer, Luke Steer, Karl Riddell, Kevin Hill.
Players that have left:
Tom Bath (Willand Rovers), Jack Thorne (Portishead Town), Tor Swann (Tiverton Town), Frankie Phillips (Loan ended).
Tom Bath departs the club after an 18 months where he helped the club survive relegation, before becoming the top goalscorer as they achieved their highest-ever league finish.
24/25 was a season of ups and downs for Jack Thorne, who enjoyed an excellent start to life in a Town shirt, before suffering a devastating injury against Brixham in the FA Cup. Thorne was able to recover in time to play a big role in the club’s late-season resurgence, which helped secure a play-off place.
Tor Swann made a big impact on his debut, scoring a late penalty against Tavistock. After a couple of months in and out the team, Swann became a regular starter in the side that ended the season on a high, using his pace and physicality to push Town forward.
There is not much to be said about Frankie Phillips that has not been said already, with the young goalkeeper standing out in a good Town team, and earning the Supporters Player of the Season award. Everyone at Exmouth Town will be watching on to see Phillips’ career continue to flourish.
We wish all of our departing players the best for the upcoming season.
New signings:
Aaron Dearing, Sam Morcom, Matt Wright, Martin Rice, Ed Butcher.
Aaron Dearing arrives from Tavistock, where he has been the number one goalkeeper, regularly impressing for the Lambs, including in games against Town.
Exmouth fought off a number of clubs for the signature of Sam Morcom, who is a highly-rated left back from Buckland, and now makes the step up to the Southern League Division One South.
Matt Wright is a name that needs no introduction to those who have followed non-league football in the South West, having been a prolific goalscorer at a number of clubs, including Plymouth Parkway and Taunton Town.
Martin Rice is a veteran goalkeeper, who is best known for his time at Exeter City, and joins as a goalkeeper coach as well as a back-up option.
Ed Butcher arrives from Westbury, having previously been at Paulton, with the winger adding a new dimension to the Town attack.
The players will return to training on Saturday, and you will have the opportunity to see our new signings in action on July 5th, as Town host National League side Yeovil Town (3pm KO).
