Match Preview: Tavistock AFC vs Exmouth Town

Exmouth Town will look to continue their fine Southern League Division One South form as they take on familiar faces in Tavistock at Langsford Park on Saturday.

Despite a poor start to the season, the Lambs are coming off a superb away win at Mousehole last Tuesday, and they will be aiming to kickstart their season with another win this weekend.

The Opposition

Town and Tavistock have battled for a number of years, and this season will be no different, with Stuart Henderson looking to get one over his friendly rivals, after losing all three meetings in 24/25.

Wins against Mousehole and Falmouth have clashed with disappointing defeats against Willand and Larkhall, as the Lambs currently sit just outside the relegation zone.

It is early on in the season, and with the likes of Jack Crago and Jacob Bowker leading the attack, it is tough to rule out a Tavistock resurgence to push them comfortably away from the drop.

Pre-Match Chat

Speaking after the Shaftesbury game, joint-manager Kevin Hill said: “It’s a derby game, and anyone can beat anyone.

We cannot take anything for granted, and we need to strike while the iron’s hot.

We’ve got to come out with the same intensity, and play to our strengths, these are the sorts of games we need to show up in.

It is going to be hard, but it always is against Tavistock.”
