Match Preview: Exmouth Town vs Hartpury
Exmouth Town will look to make it three Southern League Division One South wins in a row on Saturday, as they take on Hartpury at the Complete Infrastructure Stadium.
A 5-3 win against Bideford and a 3-0 victory away at Bristol Manor Farm has seen Town enter the new year in good form, but they will be up against a Hartpury side who have proven more than good enough for the level.
The Opposition
The Acorns have seamlessly slotted into the Southern League since their promotion last season, and find themselves in ninth currently.
It has been a mixed run as of late, with a draw against Melksham followed up by a superb 3-0 win against Bishops Cleeve, before losing 4-1 away at Malvern Town.
When these two sides met at Hartpury earlier in the season, it was an Ollie Knowles free-kick that made the difference, in what was a brilliant defensive performance from Town.
Pre-Match Chat
Speaking after the Bristol Manor Farm game, joint-manager Kevin Hill said: “We dug in away, and we know they will pop it, so I’ll ask the groundsman to leave the grass long!
We know they are a good side, but we are as well, and if we can play like we did at times today, we’ll do well.”
