Exmouth Town begin the 26/27 season in the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup, as they travel to Mill Marsh Park to take on Bovey Tracey.

Town will look to start their cup run, in what will be a tricky test away at last season’s South West Peninsula League East winners.

The winner will host either Bridgwater Town and Liskeard Athletic in the Preliminary Round, set to take place August 22nd.

The Opposition

Ben Gerring’s Bovey Tracey enjoyed a superb season last time out, romping to the SWPL East title, only losing two games on their way to a 102 point tally.

They have had a taste of everything in their three Western League games so far, beating Wellington, drawing to Buckland Athletic and losing to Newquay.

This will be there second ever FA Cup game, and after a strong FA Vase run last season, they will aim to demonstrate their cup credentials once again.

Pre-Match Chat

Speaking after the Bideford game, manager Kevin Hill said: “It’s naturally going to be tough.

I remember our first season in the Western League, we were buzzing, straight out of the blocks.

They’ve had a good start, won one and drew one, and it’s their first FA Cup game at home, I expect there will be a big crowd.

They will be getting behind them and it will be a scrap, but it depends on how we turn up.

If we turn up with a bad mindset, they will be up for it, but if we do the right things and take our chances early doors, we can win by all means.

We’ve also got to stay solid, and we will have more back next week, not everyone but more back.”
