Exmouth Town will make the short journey to the Slee Blackwell Solicitors Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday, to take on Tiverton Town in the Southern League Division One South.

Town have only played the one game in the league so far, drawing with Bideford, whilst Tiverton have played three, enjoying a win, draw and defeat each.

Both sides will be coming off the back of an FA Trophy game on Saturday, which may see this game become a battle of attrition.

The Opposition

After a dismal season in the Southern League Premier South, Tiverton have settled into the Division One South well, kicking off with a 1-1 draw with fellow recently relegated side Hungerford Town.

A win against Barnstaple Town followed, where dominated the game for a large part, but they were beaten 1-0 away at Westbury United in their most recent fixture.

Tivvy progressed in the FA Cup with a last-minute win against Ivybridge Town, and will be aiming to keep that momentum going on Monday.

Pre-Match Chat

We spoke to manager Kevin Hill ahead of Monday’s game: “Tiverton will be hard, it’s a derby game.

They’ll be full of running, they won’t want to lose to us, I think whenever we’ve played them in pre-season we haven’t won there.

They’ve come down now, and we’ve got a confidence about us, especially if we can get a result against Hartpury.

It’ll be hard as we are playing on Saturday and Monday, but it is what it is.”
