Exmouth Town will look to reach the second qualifying round of the FA Cup this Wednesday, as they welcome Banbury United to the Search4Local stadium.

After a 0-0 draw away at the TUGO Community Stadium, the Puritans have to make the long journey down to Devon for the 1st Qualifying Round Replay, with the winner facing Thame United away from home.

The Opposition

Banbury would have felt like they could have skipped the replay, having had chances in the first half to put the game out of sight, with Matt Wonnacott denying them.

In the second half, they struggled to create real chances, being forced into taking pot-shots from long range which flew over the bar, much to the frustration of the home fans.

They did show their quality on occasion, and they will be looking to prove why they are in the league above Exmouth on Wednesday.

We spoke to Kevin Hill shortly after the stalemate against Banbury: “We know more about them now, the player with the long-throw, the big centre-half who came off with the injury.

They’ve got to come to us, it’s a tighter pitch, be a bit more bobbly.

We know what it’s like midweek, they’ll have people who can’t make it due to work, but for us, we’ve got to turn up.

The draw will add to the excitement, we’ll go into Wednesday knowing whether we are home or away, if we are up at Darlington North I’ll have a word with the chairman!

But we enjoy these days, it’s different to the league, we were brilliant today.”
