Match Preview: Exmouth Town vs Shaftesbury
Exmouth Town will look to keep their unbeaten record in the Southern League Division One South, as they welcome Shaftesbury to the Search4Local Stadium this Saturday.
Town are coming off the back of an excellent FA Cup replay win against Banbury United, whilst the Rockies are look for their first win under returning manager Jim Milligan.
The Opposition
There has been a change in the dugout at Cockrams, with Josh Staunton being replaced by Milligan, who guided Shaftesbury to the play-offs last season.
It has not been the smoothest start to life back in the hotseat, having lost his first two games, but that is likely just a blip, with the Rockies expected to get their season kickstarted soon.
They will be aiming to make that happen this Saturday, and they still possess a large amount of the squad that saw them be one of the strongest sides in the division last campaign.
Pre-Match Chat
Speaking shortly after the Banbury game, Kevin Hill said: “They like to play football, I’ll ask the groundsman to keep the grass long!
I don’t know what sort of side they’ve got this year, but they beat us here last season, they are a tough side to beat.
They’ve not started great, so this might be the best time to catch them, and we are going in with a bit of confidence ourselves.”
