Exmouth Town head back to league action this Saturday, as they travel to the Avenue Stadium to take on Dorchester Town in the Southern League Division One South.

Town will be aiming to head straight back to winning ways after a cup defeat against Thame on Wednesday, whilst the Magpies have recovered from a shock start to have win their previous four league games.

The Opposition

Having lost 5-1 to Weymouth on opening day, Dorchester have shown a great resilience to now find themselves in fourth place, pushing for an instant return to the Southern Premier.

Like Exmouth, Glenn Howes’ side were knocked out of the FA Cup in the second qualifying round, losing 2-0 to Oxford City, but have scored impressive wins against Tiverton Town, Hungerford Town and Willand Rovers.

Pre-Match Chat

Speaking shortly after Wednesday’s game, Kevin Hill said: “It’ll be a tough one, but these are the games you want when you are in the Southern League.

You want to play the best you can, they’ve got a nice stadium, let’s go and express ourselves, we’ve been great in the league so far.

Tonight we had a great first half, but the injuries took their toll, so Saturday we’ll have to find a way, I might even go into the market for a striker.”
